"Art truly has been such a blessing in my life, and creating sculptures is like a never-ending journey of exploration."
About me
As an artist, I am captivated by aesthetics and self-expression. My metal sculptures seek to capture these elements emphasizing emotions through abstract figuration, featuring cultural and social references for personal identification. I work with a range of materials such steel, stainless steel, bronze or aluminum; they can be rusted, painted or patinated to enhance expression - even incorporating mix media at times. These materials play a decisive role in the creation of my sculptures because of their characteristics and qualities. Not only do they have qualities of longevity, but also poetic resonance and an elevated strength that ensures my sculptures will endure against the test of time. By embracing industrial welding techniques coupled with my own artistic flair; the possibilities are numerous, and it enables me freedom to create art without straying from my artistic vision.
My passion for art started at a young age. When I was drawing on the walls of our home Colombia at just five years old, I remember feeling pride because of what I was capable to do and that no one around could. I was born an artist. Growing up, I loved exploring different types of art but none of them resonated with me quite like sculpture did, because it is incredibly fun yet intensive. That’s why I quickly fell in love with it because sculpture gives me something that no other form does. With each piece I create, I strive to make something unique that captures its own story forging works full of emotion and character. Art truly has been such a blessing in my life and creating sculptures is like a never-ending journey of exploration.
