ABOUT ME

My sculptural work is grounded in the tension between internal experience and external form. I explore psychological and social conditions shaped by lived experiences that fractured my sense of safety and power. These undercurrents do not appear as direct narratives; instead, they are embedded in every decision I make, from the materials I use to the gestures I construct. The work exists in a space where pressure and resistance are held in balance.

The process is intuitive and physical. A sculpture may begin as a mental image, a sketch, or through the act of assembling materials. Meaning emerges through making, where a process of resistance, negotiation, and force become integral to the work itself. I am less interested in resolution than in sustaining tension, allowing the forms to exist in a state of ongoing strain without collapse. Steel is my primary material. Working with industrial metal is not only technical, but an act of reclamation. Through welding, cutting, bending, and grinding, I push the material beyond its expected behavior. These interventions reveal a latent vulnerability within materials typically associated with strength and permanence.

My sculptures do not depict the body directly, yet they carry its presence. Containment, imbalance, and structural stress become expressions of psychological states. The forms persist, and in this persistence, I locate a quiet but insistent force—an indomitable human spirit defined not by triumph, but by continuous resistance within constraint. I am driven by the question of how a structure can make visible what is otherwise unseen. My aim is to create artworks that are not only observed, but physically and emotionally felt, where material, tension, and form hold the weight of lived experiences.
